From a few weeks back....
I love it when a flower surprises me. I am not usually a huge fan of standard roses, or purple roses, but these lavender 'Ocean Song' roses from Peterkort really took me by surprise. They just went perfectly with this palette of creamy, mauvish purples, bright white, and teal.
These were the subscription arrangements from a few weeks ago, created with an abundance of gorgeous flowers from Washington and Oregon growers selling at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market, and some from the Botanique Cutting Garden too!

Geez purple and pink, why you gotta be so pretty?
I know it's super girly. I know you may gripe and say, really purple and pink??? Enough already with the purple and pink!! But hey, I run the show around here, and I like to do what makes me happy. And this week, the purples and pinks were calling my name...
This weeks subscriptions had so many Botanique-grown ingredients! Sweet Pea Vines, Cerinthe, Daucus carota 'Dark Knight,' and Black Cornflowers. The lovely, pink Dahlias are from Jello Mold Farm.

Cool Blues, Purples and Silver
Perhaps it's the fact that purple is one of my favorite colors. Or that blue flowers are hard to come by and must be enjoyed when they can be found! Or perhaps it's just that I love silvery foliage, and two of said foliages were ready to harvest this week from The Botanique Cutting Garden. Or maybe it's all this rainy weather, which is inspiring me to make peace with a cooler color palette....
Or maybe it's these OUTSTANDING anemones from Everyday Flowers in Stanwood, WA.
Whatever the reason, this week's subscription arrangements are all about the spectrum of color between amethyst, silver, icy blue and mint green.
This week's subscriptions include: Lace-leaf Dusty Miller, Cardoon Foliage, and Campanula from The Botanique Cutting Garden in Seattle, WA, Bearded Iris from Schreiner's Iris Farm in Salem, OR, Anemones from Everyday Flowers in Stanwood, WA, Columbine from Jello Mold Farm in Mount Vernon, WA, and Rye Grain from Charles Little & Co. in Eugene, OR.
This marks week five of the Spring Subscription, which means that the subscription period is more than halfway through! But there will be plenty more to come- the Summer Subscription starts on June 28th, and there's Autumn after that... in other words... if you've been enjoying these photos and thinking to yourself, "Flowers every week, that sounds pretty good!" now's your chance to sign up to receive a weekly arrangement from Botanique! You can read about the subscription here, sign up here, and email me with any questions: emailbotanique@gmail.com.

Jewel Tones
Recently I have been tending towards a more pastel palette, but today the jewel tones struck.
Bold, vibrant and dramatic, there they be.
Check out that moss on the steps! Not officially part of the arrangement, but it certainly got the "Be bright! Be bold!" memo.
I typically let amaranth spill over the edges of the vase- I love the way it cascades downward, creating a strong sense of movement. In this arrangement, I also wove a strand of it through the middle of the arrangement (see above), and really liked this effect- like a little river of lime green beads swirling through the flowers.
Jewel tones, I like you. I think you're a keeper.
