From the Garden....
The Cutting Garden is getting so messy- plants are falling down across the paths, knocked over by the rain and late-season neglect. But the flowers bloom on, always reaching towards the sun, so there are tons of twisty stems out there. I can't say we mind, it makes them so very amenable to spilling over the edges of their vases....

From the Garden
Every single stem in this arrangement came from the Botanique Cutting Garden. It is so exciting to be able to arrange like that, straight from the garden. 'Lichfield Angel' garden roses, two different kinds of cosmos, nasturtium flowers and vines, foxglove, orlaya, variegated sanguisorba foliage, strawberry foliage, raspberry foliage..... did I miss anything?
Here's to a summer of bloomin' gardens and beautiful arrangements!

A little hellebore love....
It is hard not to get REALLY EXCITED during hellebore season. Hellebores are undoubtedly one of my all time favorite flowers, and a special jewel during these early months of the year when things are just starting to get going.
Lovely and magical. This arrangement features WA grown Hellebores, Spirea and Salal, Oregon grown Viburnum, and California grown Ranunculas. Hello spring!

One more arrangement before we hit the road....
Tomorrow, Eli and I are heading off to Breitenbush Hot Springs- yes!!!! But before we go, a few shots of an arrangement I made today for a friend's booth at the NW Flower and Garden Show.
Please excuse the blurriness... there was gorgeous light spilling into the basement when I went to grab a crate to pack this bad boy up, and so I decided to "get crafty" with my photography and take a photo in a location other than that trusty fence you may have started to recognize from almost. every. flower. photo. I. take.
But then I got frustrated with my camera (which was not doing such a great job of focusing this low-light situation) and had to take the photo operation outside to.... you guessed it- the fence!
Ahhh, the fence, where there always seems to be just enough natural light...
Ranunculus, Acacia, Dusty Miller, Eucalyptus, Pussy Willow and Drumstick Allium.
Enjoy the weekend and Valentines Day! Botanique is NOT taking Valentines Day orders, but I will be working at Terra Bella Flowers on V-Day, so if you want flowers for your sweetie I recommend you get them there!

Plum Ranunculus
I think it's safe to say that this week's flower obsession was rich, plum-colored ranunculus. Here are a few shots of arrangements made with this incredibly gorgeous flower!
Ranunculus, tulips, feverfew, and stock...
And here we have a similar palette, but take out the stock and yellow tulips, and add some pincushion protea, quince branches, and blackberries...
Makes me think of spring...
