From the Garden

Every single stem in this arrangement came from the Botanique Cutting Garden. It is so exciting to be able to arrange like that, straight from the garden. 'Lichfield Angel' garden roses, two different kinds of cosmos, nasturtium flowers and vines, foxglove, orlaya, variegated sanguisorba foliage, strawberry foliage, raspberry foliage..... did I miss anything?

Welcome to Summer!

Here we are again, at that point in the year where spring officially becomes summer! We rang it in with two sweet weddings this weekend. Last week for peonies, but the garden roses are looking amazing. Poppies will probably be done in the blink of an eye, but for now we are loving them and using them as much as possible! Here are a few shots snapped of an arrangement for the sweetheart table for one of our weddings this weekend. Bright, clean, Dutch Masters style.

Featured on 100 Layer Cake!

Last November, we collaborated on a photo shoot that was recently published on 100 Layer Cake! For this shoot, we really wanted to play with COLOR. As the shoot took place in November, we went foraging around Seattle for fallen leaves and cool seed pods to bring in some of that awesome, crisp, autumn texture. We combined earthy browns, punchy oranges, and lush pinks with modern metals and teal accents, to create a super rich color palette.

It is a rather strange time of year to highlight such autumnal designs, but I didn't want to wait until next fall to share! Hopefully this will inspire anyone out there currently planning a wedding this coming fall. A Double Feature

Meet us at the Vintage Wedding Fair

Come find us this Saturday at the Vintage Wedding Fair! It's the day before Mother's Day, so be sure to bring your mom :) We will have a table full of pretties, like these beautiful peonies, roses and spirea, and would love to meet you and talk about your wedding flowers. Hope to see you there!

Kelsey and Sean at Sodo Park

This wedding was so beautiful. It was February 16th, two days after Valentine's Day, and a VERY rainy, windy, stormy night. Though the plan was made long before we knew the weather report, the cozy, elegant, and romantic atmosphere we were shooting for seemed perfectly suited to the day- Sodo Park became a warm, glowing refuge from the storm. I lost count of how many mercury glass votives and candle holders were part of this wedding... hundreds and hundreds. Those candles combined with dark green ruscus, jasmine vine, roses, deep plum ranunculas and a hint of pussy willow created the shimmering and richly-toned ambiance we were looking for.

Kelsey and Sean both looked absolutely stunning. They had a relaxed, poised, and sophisticated presence together, which you can see in these beautiful photos by Jeramie Shoda of ShodaLOVE. Any couples out there looking for a photographer, I would hightly recommend Jeramie- as you will see below, his work is outstanding, and he a true pleasure to be around and work with!
